a good day to be a horse...

okay first I have to say that I guess blasting spring as a myth really worked....many hours after my conspiracy post yesterday the sun broke through and not just peeked, literally split the clouds into pieces and lit up my living room and soul with warmth....my temperature then read 69.8 degrees....seriously. that is some determined weather change. and I love it.

now, onto this PAST saturday that proved to be a not so lovely day for shooting...wind- the angry, fierce kind with no apologies, and hello painful sudden downpours of rain....yes, it was not such a good day for shooting but for a horse? two words: spa treatment. nothing could stop the clinic from carrying on at Last Stop Farm this past weekend...

ahh yes, it was a good day to be a horse....

it might just be a conspiracy...

does spring really exist or is it just a season cultivated by our imaginations to help get us from winter to summer without losing our minds....my thermometer reads 48.3 degrees right now and busting out the winter jacket for audrey to wear to school this morning was a necessity.....so I have to ask, spring where in the world ARE you already?! yes my green plants are growing vivaciously and my strawberry leaves have slowly seeped their roots over half of the garden (hello homemade jam...) buuut....

....perhaps I am living vicariously through our family vacation last summer to Tahquamenon Falls just to get by but I found these images when cleaning out my computer and I love them. They are by far my favorites of the 900 some images I took that week because these are my children...their personalities, their spirit, them. unedited little sassmasters and I love them to pieces.
I cannot wait to be in that warm, laughter inducing weather again...and even more so, find out the personality of my new little bean soon to make an appearance in the Fall...aaaah, seasons, they come and go before we can even breathe them in.
I know Spring has to be in there somewhere. And so I will wait in my fuzzy socks and ugly pants for you as long as it takes....

a day in the life of a one year old...

my sweet little niece is turning one in just a few short weeks....life moves so fast, especially if you are on the verge of taking those first steps on your own, exploring all of your surroundings, and taking a liking to taste-testing anything you can fit into your chubby little fists....

my first outdoor shoot of the season proved a beautiful day full of sunshine and even patches of flowers here and there....and could it be? I even spotted a small bee, slow moving, but ready to pollinate like no other.....

I love spring. and I think we even managed to catch emily in all her sass and glory....our shoot reminded me of one thing: she is definitely related to the presman. I have never seen two little ones with such expression....and such determination to have their way....ah, the joys of being young again when it's still cute to have an attitude.....

my favorite of the afternoon...
